Services For Agencies

We assist police and public safety agencies in achieving optimal organizational functioning by offering a science-backed psychological perspective.

We stay up to date with legislation that intersects police and public safety and psychology and we offer services to steer organizations toward healthy growth and change including:

  • We offer in-person and virtual consultation to aid agency leaders and their staff in effective decision-making.

We provide services on an as-needed (per hour) basis or via formal longer-term contracts.

We are available for ongoing executive consultation, mental health program development and evaluation, and grant writing support.

  • We offer educational presentations in trainings for organizations across Nevada, and virtually across the U.S., on the following topic areas:

    —Stress and resiliency

    —Sleep optimization

—Vicarious trauma, compassion fatigue, and burnout

—Stigma and barriers to help-seeking among first responders.

—Supporting the mental health of law enforcement officers and their families.

—Mastering work-home transitions for law enforcement families.

—Techniques to master performance hindering anxiety in high stress situations.

    *Other topics available upon request

  • We offer annual wellness visits that comply with NRS289.510 to preserve commissioned staff's emotional and behavioral health.

We work with agency leaders to customize the visits to meet the unique demands of their agency, including:

    -Who will attend the visit?

-How often will the visits occur?

    -Where will the visits occur?

    -Who will fund the visits?

-Will incentives or accommodations be offered to reduce barriers?

-How will visits be scheduled and attendance tracked?

-What can be implemented to assess value/benefit of visits across time?

-How to improve staff trust and acceptability of the visits?

  • We accept formal referrals from police and public safety organizational leaders for postvention services for staff involved in officer-involved shootings or other critical incidents.

We follow best practices in the field [the IACP Psychological Services Section guidelines] regarding postvention and provide in-person psychoeducational visits with staff within one week of the incident, a phone check one month after the incident, and a phone check in three months after the incident. All postvention visits are confidential for staff and the agency can only expect to receive a letter confirming attendance and billing.

  • I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone call to discuss your agency needs and provide an accurate pricing estimate.

We believe treatment should be readily available and easily accessible for all. Our office offers in-person and virtual services and provides extended office hours to reduce barriers to access.
